The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me on my journey!

postWelcome to my first Blog.

Tonight, Wednesday 20th March 2019, marks the Spring Equinox at 21.58 GMT. Equinox is Latin for ‘equal night’, so we have an equal amount of night and daylight, falling into perfect balance, before it tips into longer days and shorter nights.

As we come out of our winter hibernation, solitude, inner reflection or however you have been spending the colder months, our bodies and minds will be yearning for some Sun energy to revitalise us, as we join in the spring’s vibrant newness and budding creativity.

For the first time since 1981 the Spring Equinox coincides (within 4 hours) with the Full Moon, making this quite a rare occurrence. This Supermoon falls in Libra and represents all things beautiful, charming, creative and elegant, a time to be sociable, going out and meeting new people, possibly making meaningful, long lasting connections and establishing business, intimate or friend relationships. We will be feeling confident, so even if you are single, go out and mingle. . . 🙂 This Moon will be illuminating a path towards our new potential, an opportunity to make changes for  greater happiness and a life that we dream of. It’s time to get un – stuck from repeated patterns and behaviour, move away from situations that are not in align with who you really are.

In Chinese medicine, the liver is the organ most effected in springtime, making it a perfect time to detox and cleanse, healing any imbalances, clearing out the old to make way for the new. One way to do this is with a ‘green diet’, eating green foods like salads, steamed greens, broccoli, avocados, sprouts, mung beans and green fruits, making sure you drink plenty of water with cucumber or lemons/limes, green and herbal teas, this helps to alkalinise the body, cleanse the liver, clears your skin and can help with weight loss. (Always seek nutritional or medical advice before drastically altering your diet).

Detoxing isn’t  only about addressing your diet, we also need to detox our lifestyle. Pay attention to your daily routine, relationships, career and your physical bodies, even your car, if there is anything that is not in harmony with where you would like to be, there will be a path to the new amazing you.

This Friday I will be teaching Kundalini Yoga at the Tarka Clinic, Barnstaple, 09.30-11.00 and Tuesday 26th at Mill Lane studios 19.00-20.30. We will be practicing a Kryia (postures and breathing) for, yes, the Liver and a meditation to honour the Full Moon.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

Until next time, be kind, compassionate and loving to all beings, but ~
